Many people have fun spending time with their friends or family during weekends or vacations. To keep these good memories, people mostly take pictures. My family have fun together by watching movies, swimming, going to amusement parks, hiking, biking, and skiing. We spend a lot of time doing sport activities. In this essay I am going to talk about my visit to Acadia National Park, Mt.Washington, Hallasan, Chiaksan National Park, biking, skiing, and Everland!!!!!

There are a lot of National Parks in the U.S.A. Acadia National Park was my first national park I visited while living in the U.S.A. We visited Mt.Cadillac. It was a rock mountain, so there were a few trees on top of the mountain. It was cold on top of the mountain and also hear birds. My family ate lobster and clam chowder soup near the harbor. Both lobster and clam chowder smelled good, but I didn't like the lobster, but the clam chowder was delicious.

While visiting Acadia National Park, my family also visited Mt.Washington in New Hampshire. We first went to the top by train. We could see cool rocks while going up. At the top, it was cold and windy. I could hear the cold wind blowing and smell the pizza being made inside the building. We went back up the top of the mountain also by car. It was a different feeling going up by car and train. My favorite part was seeing a mommy and baby moose while going down the mountain by car. There were so cute!!!

On 2012, my family went on a 1 week trip to Jeju, skipping school. My dad's goal for this Jeju trip was to go up to the top of Hallasan, the highest mountain in Korea. My dad trained my family by going up a mountain near our house and my dad's school once a week. The top of Hallasan is called Baeklokdam, and took us 12 hours to go back and forth. The ramen up at the mountain tasted more delicious than the ramen I eat at home. It was the best tasting ramen I ate in my life. After I came down the mountain, I was so proud of myself and felt good.

This Sunday my dad and I went to Chiaksan National Park. We went up to the Sae-ryum Falls which took 3 hours back and forth. It started to rain when we started to walk. I saw chipmunks and also heat the water going down. Once we got to Sae-ryum Falls, my dad and took pictures and put our feet in the water. The water was so cold I mostly put my feet inside the water for 5 seconds and the rest of the time on the rock. Even though I got wet because of the rain, I had a fun time with my dad.

My family likes riding bikes. We each have a bike and my dad has a cycle too, so we have 5 bikes in our house. When I ride a bike I feel so good because of the wind, but in the summer small flies come into my eyes and mouth which feels very disgusting. That's why I need a mask or sun glass to cover my mouth or eyes. I really want to get a cycle, I am too short. I will grow fast and get a cycle!!!

At least once a month during the winter, my family goes to a ski resort. My dad rides a snowboard and my little sister and I ride skis. My dad wants us to ride in a shape if 11, but when you ride as a shape of an 11 I go to fast. I sort of get scared of the speed even thought when I enjoy it. There is a lot of people when you go skiing and you have to be careful not to get hit. I want to ride a snowboard, but my dad said to ride it at high school. I love winter sports!!!

Everland is about 30 minutes from our house. My whole family used to have an yearly free pass ticket for two years because it was really short from our house. There are a lot of people in the weekends and the lines are very long. I like riding roller coaster because I enjoy the speed. My dad likes roller coasters too instead of the spinning ones. I like how the  wind comes to my face and my stress comes out. My favorite ride is the T- Express and the Rolling X- Train. My free pass ticket ended about two months ago. I really want to go to Everland after this camp.

I love to do activities with my family and I always have fun. Not just going to mountains, but I also want to try extreme sports too. I had a lot of fun with my family going to Acadia National Park, Mt.Washington, Hallasan, Chiaksan National Park, biking, skiing, and going to Everland. I hope to go on more trips with my family.

Mao's Last Dancer: Movie Reveiw

Today I am going to be reviewing a movie called Mao's Last Dancer that came out in 2009. This movie is about a true story and is a romance and drama movie. 1 will be a bad movie and 5 will be a very good movie for my rating system. I would rate this movie 4 out of 5 because it was an interesting movie, but not really that fun.

This is about a main character named Li Cuxin who went to Houston, Texas as a student to learn ballet. Li's family lives in the Shingdong Province, China. Li's family is very poor, but Li passed a test at the Beijing Arts Academy in China and Li begins to learn ballet at the school. China was a communist country at the time of the movie so they performed things that represent communist China. An American ballet performance director Ben visits China. He saw Li and takes him to Houston for one month as a student with his company. While dancing, Li falls in love with a dancer in the company called Liz(Elizabeth). When Li's visa has finished the Chinese embassy tries to take Li back to China, but he said that he was married. The Chinese embassy says that if you want to live in the U.S.A. he can never see his family again or return to China. Li chooses to stay in the U.S.A. and eventually Li and Liz divorce and Liz moves to California. At the end, Li performs with his partner Mary and his parents came to the ballet show as VIPs to surprise Li. Three years later, Li marries Mary and visits China and his family.

In the movie, Li's father tells Li a story about a frog in a well. This can mean different things to everyone, but to me it means not to be afraid of trying something new and always look around. In the story there was a frog in the well that didn't come out, but finally it came out and saw the outside world. Even though the frog might have been afraid, the frog tried something new by coming out of the well. Also the frog didn't just see the inside world of the well, but found out there was an outside world of the well. This story means not to be afraid to try something new and always look around.

Li made a decision in the movie to marry Liz and never go back to China and see his family. I think Li made a bad decision because he later was worried about what might happen to his family and didn't really have a lot of time to love Liz. Even though he said he loved Liz he became sharp and worried about his family and didn't understand Liz very well. It just seemed like Li married Liz just to stay in the U.S.A. Li and Liz divorce and Liz moves to California for ballet.

Li had a teacher named Teacher Chan who inspired him to practice ballet better. In my life, my dad inspires me. Since I was in elementary school, my dad inspired me to become a professor when I grow up. I liked how he works hard to teach his students and does have presentations, but also spending a lot of time with his family. To make my dream come true, I have to study hard and live a future I want to live.

To conclude, I think this movie would be a  more interesting movie if it was a little bit more funny than serious the whole time. This is a good movie for people who like romantic and drama movies the most, but also a good movie for every one to watch.
